I didn’t have a television until I was 18, so reading has always been one of the greatest pleasures of my life! I did have seven bookcases full of fiction, but I’ve lost track now, and am starting to get rid of some! I spend most of my time looking at academic books, so fiction tends to be escapist, see some of my favourites:

• Trashy modern fiction for days when I have had more than my fair share of intellectualism, and easy reading such as Harry Potter, the The Chronicles of Narnia.
• I have a particular love of Georgette Heyer books, instilled in me by my mother, and find all things Regency fascinating.
• I read Anne of Green Gables many times as a child
• I collected the whole series of Laura Ingalls Wilder
