Divine Heart of Love: (from Heart Speaks to Heart)

Jesus = a human heart – big enough to hold human loneliness & human anguish – a heart of total, unrestricted love… because he wants us to fulfil our deepest desires.

The reading seems to challenge against the judgements that we make… God doesn’t distinguish, but we do…

The Sacred Heart of Jesus: Matthew 11:28-30

I’ve quite often returned to ‘The Message’ version of this:

28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

I’m always trying to learn how to get a better balance, and take time to rest … we only get one shot and “no one ever said I wish I’d spent more time in the office”… much as I love my job, and sometimes it’s difficult to tell the difference between work/leisure … life is more than deadlines … And I can hear Brian Draper talking about ‘unforced rhythms of grace’!

However busy the space is… quiet spaces can be found… here’s a pic I took in London:

Prayer: Make clear to the Holy Spirit that the doors are open … and that when it enters – for it to create an island of calm and gentleness within us.

As I write this, the news is full of the Connecticut shooting … including a parent demonstrating unbelievable grace… but.. yes … words fail..  (LA Times giving practical resources)

Advent Action: Place a wreath on the door to symbolise the victory achieved by Christ’s entry into the world… is that what it means? I don’t have one… but…

Checking Google … plenty of ‘holiday sites‘, including Wikipedia

Now, let me check what Pam said
