Living life in a digital world: Even my 14-month-old daughter reaches for the smartphone and laptop. She mimics a phone call with the iPhone and taps away dutifully on Mommy and Daddy’s computers. As adorable as it is to watch my little techy, as a parent I want her to explore all aspects of life. I want her to play in dirt, experience face-to-face play-dates, build snowmen, go fishing with Daddy, help with the garden and overall, appreciate the great outdoors. I also want her to love the library and holding a real book. I want her to enjoy quiet moments. As she grows, I want her to know when it is time to unplug, understand when a conversation should happen in person and know that the Internet does not define her life.
