I was interested to see this software in use for ScannerCentral tonight, which ties into a Ning-like group (but looks a lot more polished than Ning, and maybe a little less susceptible to spam/porn), created with MeetUp. It seems to allow the solid arrangements of events, but also allows for space for messaging, forums, etc. in a very intuitive way. Look forward to using it more!
