I am/have been involved in a number of funded projects, including increasing my capacity to apply for further funding.

  • 2016: Project Lead, Manchester City Football Club
    Focus groups with Chinese nationals re digital marketing efforts. (c.£5,000)
  • 2012-2015, Research Fellow, The Jerusalem Trust
    Funding to continue, and develop, work upon The BIGBible Project.
  • 2011 - 2013, Research Fellow, FASTECH (JISC)
    Project led by Bath Spa University & University of Winchester
    Feedback and Assessment for Students with Technology (FASTECH) is designed to use readily available technologies to support the systemic enhancement of assessment and feedback strategies and practices at programme, school and institutional levels. A key aim of the project is to provide evidence of, and guidelines for, technological improvements and change processes that can be used to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of assessment and feedback at these levels throughout the sector. (£190,450)
  • 2011 – 2013, Bid Writer/Research Fellow, Digital Literacies (JISC)
    Project led by ODHE & University of Winchester
    The project seeks to promote and embed digital literacies with the group ‘Organisational Development in HE’. The project will help practitioners gain confidence and understanding of best practice. The ODHE brings together HE practitioners with responsibilities for supporting organisational-level development within their institutions. (£10,000)
  • 2010-2012, Project Manager, The Big Bible Project
    Project led by CODEC, University of Durham
    The Big Bible Project seeks to encourage greater Biblical literacy, particularly through the use of online tools. Raising the profile of the project led to funding from the following bodies: The Methodist Church, St John’s College (Durham), The Bible Society, Methodist Evangelicals Together, with gifts in kind from Premier Christian Media, 12Baskets and SPCK. (£30,000)
  • 2009-2011, Project Officer, Skillsnet (L&T Fellowship, University of Winchester)
    Project led by Professor Kris Spellman-Miller
    SkillsNet was designed to provide easily accessible, relevant on-line resources to help students excel in their academic work, whether they are preparing ahead, or up against a deadline. The site was launched in Summer 2010, and I was involved in writing the second bid. (£3,600 & £1,500)
  • 2011, unsuccessful attempt Radio 3: New Generation Thinkers (January)
  • 2009 – 2010, Research Fellow, BODGIT (JISC)
    Project led by University of Loughborough, University of Winchester & University of Middlesex
    Bringing Organisational Development into IT” considered the implementation of IT packages across an institution (in this case with a particular focus on Wimba), as part of a project known as ‘EMBED IT’. The project was part of Work with IT. (£9,000)
  • 2002-2003, Research Assistant, Mothers as Students, (Elizabeth Nuffield Educational Fund)
    Project led by Faculty of Education, University of Winchester
    A team-based well-evaluated project, providing SPSS statistical data, and contributing the discussion-based analysis. (£Unknown)
  • 1997 - 2000, PhD Studentship, History, University of Winchester
    Working to formal outlines and deadlines, writing project proposals, producing regular reports, managing £3,000 research budget. Post the formal studentship, through to 2004, gaining small pots of extra funding for research and conference attendance. (£17,000)
